Bill Gettings has been an Advisor to individuals and businesses since 1980. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional serving clients primarily in Lafayette and Indianapolis.

Bill’s professional investment career began in Chicago with The Equitable as a pension & retirement plan specialist. He traveled the Midwest training and working with Equitable agents; helping their clients set up and fund Retirement Plans. Bill and his division were leaders for the entire Equitable.

In 1982, he joined his father in Lafayette, Indiana and together they opened an office in Indianapolis as Financial Services Professionals with AXA Equitable, specializing in Retirement Plans. Prior to leaving Chicago he helped a paper distribution company establish a 401(k) Plan, one of the first for the Equitable and in the Midwest. During his 22 year career, Bill earned his Chartered Life Underwriter, CLU, and Chartered Financial Consultant, ChFC, designations. He obtained his Certified Financial Planner™ certification in 2003. He continues to provide Investment and Financial Planning advice to individuals and small businesses.

Bill is a 1974 graduate of Lafayette Central Catholic High School and a 1978 graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Management.

He has been a faculty member of Purdue University as a Lecturer for CSR 415 Sales & Sales Management Capstone in the School of Consumer & Family Sciences.

Community Service

He is active in the Greater Lafayette community and has served on several non-profit boards including Lafayette Community Foundation, Lafayette Diocesan Foundation, Leadership Lafayette and the YWCA. Currently is a member of the Franciscan Alliance St. Elizabeth Foundation board of directors. Additionally, he is the President of the Estate Planning Council of Greater Lafayette.
